This sentence has five words. Here are five more words. Five-word sentences are fine. But several together become monotonous. Listen to what is happening. The writing is getting boring. The sound of it drones. It’s like a stuck record. The ear demands some variety. Now listen. I vary the sentence length, and I create music. Music. The writing sings. It has a pleasant rhythm, a lilt, a harmony. I use short sentences. And I use sentences of medium length. And sometimes, when I am certain the reader is rested, I will engage him with a sentence of considerable length, a sentence that burns with energy and builds with all the impetus of a crescendo, the roll of the drums, the crash of the cymbals–sounds that say listen to this, it is important.
like running full speed into the night.Faceplant in the harsh yellow sand of a blank legal pad with a pen in my hand and a scrape on my arm bleeds a blue stream of words which my pen quickly catches and forms into chords of my mind's crazy music a haphazard dance spinning into deep nonsense with hardly a chance of my sanity seeping through.

An explanation of me. I love sleeping and books and dandelions and bubbles and clouds and stars and dreadlocks and long hair and daisies and old cardigans and anything knit and big glasses and bicycles and hedgehogs and baby elephants and otters and leg warmers and cozy socks and tea and coffee and swings and Chucks and Chacos and baking and sitting in window seats and the New York Times Crossword and scarves and hats and mittens and autumn and pajamas and trees and climbing and light and color and prisms and candles and sun streaming through windows in the morning or mid afternoon.
